Maddie Turns One

Madeline's first birthday fell on Saturday, January 12, so we had a little party with our friends, Janel and the Hutt family.  Madeline seemed to enjoy her pink decorations, new presents and, of course, her first cupcake!

 Also, about a week before her birthday, Madeline started walking full-time.  She had been taking about a dozen steps at a time, but one day she just stopped crawling and started only walking.  She has only gotten faster and more balanced.  She is definitely keeping us on our toes, but it is fun to let her walk around the park or down the sidewalk with us.  She has a mind of her own, though, and doesn't always go the way we want her to!  She loves the freedom!
